这是伯明翰市交响乐团（City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra）及其首席客座指挥爱德华·加德纳（Edward Gardner）合作录制的“门德尔松在伯明翰”系列的第三张专辑。这张专辑收录了《风平浪静，一路顺风》（Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage）和《第二交响曲》，完成了对门德尔松成熟交响曲的考察。
