This is the page to list compositions played by a relatively lage string ensemble. Works composed for a string quartet (i.e. all the string quartets), or for a situation that composer didn\’t designate whether his work should be played by a large ensemble or not, will not be included here (usually happened to works before Beethoven, e.g. Eine kleine Nachtmusik by Mozart). BUT, for centain there will always be exceptions.
