“我们”一直在寻找20世纪四、五十年代蓝调现代爵士乐的失落遗珠。在以往发行的两套盒式唱片中，“我们”对20世纪四、五十年代的现代爵士乐失落的珍珠进行了搜寻。虽然那些足以触动人们的神经，但既然 \”多就是多，少就是少\”，“我们”在此再次汇集二十多张激动人心的专辑，其中包括一些著名独奏家的珍贵录音——包括吉米·史密斯和巴德·鲍威尔等明星早年的一些罕见杰作。在第三套成功的系列中，“我们”继续探索五、六十年代的蓝调爵士音乐。
Blue Notes厂牌1939年由Alfred Lion创立于美国，以录制爵士乐著称（也出一些布鲁斯）。在该公司发展史上，有两个不容忽视的人。他们是1953年加入的录音室Rudy Van Gelder与1956年加入的封面设计师Reid Miles。前者为Blue Note留下了大量优质的录音，后者设计出了精美的封面，使Blue Note的唱片是既好听又好看。1965年，该公司被Liberty公司收购，1985年Liberty又被EMI的Capital公司收购。由于Liberty在五六十年代留下了不少优秀的录音，于是他们在激光唱片出现后便将以前的录音作筛选后做了一个“鉴赏家系列”，使这些旧录音焕发出新的生命。1981年，“Blue Note俱乐部”在纽约的格林威治村成立，俱乐部邀请爵士与布鲁斯音乐的名家前来演出。B.B.King，Oscar Peterson，Dizzy Gillespie等名家都是其常客，并视俱乐部是他们的“家”。
