引领了千禧年男团复兴浪潮的 Backstreet Boys（后街男孩）外形阳光，他们的音乐制作精良，和声优美。五位团员 Nick Carter、Howie Dorough、Brian Littrell、AJ McLean 和 Kevin Richardson，最初从佛罗里达州奥兰多的主题乐园和商场开启歌唱生涯，在 1995 年发行了首支单曲《We’ve Got It Goin’ On》。1997 年，凭借一首清爽的抒情歌《Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)》，Backstreet Boys 一举奠定了青少年偶像的地位，并于当年八月在美国发行了首张同名专辑《Backstreet Boys》。1999 年的续作《Millennium》收录《I Want It That Way》《Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely》等经典作品，堪称世纪之交的流行乐典范之作。2000 年代初，经历过短暂休整以及成员 Richardson 的退队和归队，Backstreet Boys 继续在全球各地巡演并发行专辑。他们还是大名鼎鼎的“后街男孩”，不过也证明自己已从“boy band”（男团）进化为“man band”（男子组合），而且仍然可以为流行音乐带来新的惊喜。
