小提琴家、钢琴家、指挥家和作曲家埃内斯特·布洛赫先是受到施特劳斯的影响，后又受到德彪西的影响，他不得不生活在两个世界之间。美国的海市蜃楼则为他提供了昙花一现的辉煌成就。在他众多的作品中，只有《所罗门（Schelomo）》依然受到热捧，而 20 年后创作的同类作品《Voice in the Wilderness》却仍然鲜为人知。这首杰作有两个版本：一个是钢琴与大提琴之间的音乐与哲学对话，另一个是钢琴让位于大型管弦乐队的狂想曲。在 1952 年后的首次录音中，我们将再次聆听《Voice in the Wilderness》的原始版本及其生动的摘要《Visions and Prophecies》。br />
