专辑简介
尤金·奥曼迪（Eugene Ormandy，1899－1985），美籍匈牙利指挥家、小提琴家。他曾得到美国政府、总统以及其它各个国家所颁发的各种嘉奖，并获得十七所主要大学与音乐学校的荣誉博士学位。五岁时便以小提琴神童的身份进入布达佩斯国立音乐学院，十七岁就成了国立音乐学院的教授。1920年拿起指挥棒，开始专攻指挥。1928年入美国籍，此后陆续指挥了纽约爱乐交响乐团及费城通俗管弦乐团的一系列音乐会获得成功。1931年成功地指挥了费城音乐剧院的演出后，当即被聘请为明利亚波利斯交响乐团常任指挥达五年之久。自1936年起，任费城交响乐团音乐指导及第四代指挥。此后在该团度过了四十多年的指挥生涯，并与该团录制了四百余张唱片。
