专辑简介
This NDR Radio Philharmonic Orchestra (German: NDR Radiophilharmonie) is one of Germany’s remarkable collection of regional orchestras maintained by radio broadcasters. It was founded in 1945 and has numbered famous individuals, including Günter Wand and John Eliot Gardiner, as principal conductors. The orchestra has a substantial discography, some of it covering neglected German orchestral music. Hardly slowed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the NDR Radio Philharmonic was heard on a reissued recording of Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms with the Knabenchor Hannover in 2024. The NDR Radio Philharmonic is based in the city of Hannover (the NDR Symphony, now the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, is in Hamburg). It dates back to the 1920s in the form of the Niedersächsicher Sinfonie-Orchester and assumed its present form as the Rundfunkorchester Hannover(“Hannover Radio Orchestra”) in 1950.
